During my first term I learned Novato had much to be proud of—but three key Issues had been neglected:
During my first term the City Council began to address fiscal neglect by funding critical Reserve Funds for insurance and emergencies, initiating funding for long term facility maintenance and refinancing Novato’s employee pension liabilities. We addressed facility neglect by closing unsafe city facilities and planning City Hall restoration. Finally, we began work on land use issues by approving a Hillside and Ridgeline Ordinance, and stimulated vibrancy downtown with a revised Parking Ordinance and Downtown Design Guidelines. Much work remains to be done concerning these three key issues. During my second term, I will work to:
